I started working online from my home in Buckhorn, Ontario. I was working on a different project at the time, and my online teaching was something that was experimental at the beginning. I was an IELTS Examiner and actually in the process of transitioning to another career when start-up culture was beginning, and I had an Examiner friend who said that Russians actually were getting online English and I should consider building a website to engage with those learners. That was back in 2012. Ten years, over 10,000 lessons and 800 students later, the Salon is still here.
